5 of The Best Fuel Saving Tips You Need

Fuel is one of life’s most precious commodities in recent years, and as time goes on, it’s getting more and more expensive to fill up our cars. That much you’ve probably already figured out. You’re here, after all, looking for awesome fuel saving tips, right? Saving fuel is actually a lot easier than most people think, though, and with just a few easy to use tips, you’ll be well on your way to doing it yourself! Fuel guide.

Accelerate Less

One of the best ways to make sure that you are using less fuel to make sure you aren’t accelerating when you don’t need to be. No matter what size engine your car is, it’s always a little bit of fun to try and reach the speed limit as quickly as you can and get your engine roaring as you do it. We all do it from time to time, and it’s healthy for your engine every now and then. Doing it every time you leave a traffic light, however, is not the smartest thing to do. You’re seriously burning fuel.

Stick to the Speed Limits!

Speeding up to the speed limit is bad enough but going past it is even worse. Make sure that you always drive the speed limit for your health as well as your money. That’s a fuel saving tip as well as a lifesaving tip, so don’t forget it. The faster you go, the more fuel you’re going to use. Chances are in fact, even if you do go over the limit, you’re not in the right gear to be doing it since you’re just being a little bit cheeky. It really burns more fuel than you need.

Keep your tyres Up

Taking things away from the engine usage and how you’re driving, your tyres have a big impact on your fuel saving tips too. If your tyres aren’t in great condition or if they’re not at the right pressure, you’re just asking to waste fuel. Your car isn’t going as smoothly on the road as it should do, and it really does take its toll. Check whenever you feel you need to. See why fuel economy matters.

Empty your Car

Making your car lighter is an amazing way to make your car that little bit faster, but it’s also an awesome way to make sure you’re not wasting a tonne of money on fuel too. Think about it. Your car has to make enough power to move everything in it, and that includes all of the junk in your boot or the back seat full of stuff. Take all of the things you don’t want in there long term and you’ll see your fuel economy taking you so much further! (We have an article on fuel economy here too!)

Drive Less

The final fuel saving tips we need to give you are a bit of a cheat but it does make sense end if you think about it, it’s always something you can do pretty easily. Just drive your car less. So many of us choose to drive literally everywhere, even using the car just for the sake of boredom. There’s really no need for something, and cutting out the pointless or too short journeys can be amazing for your health as well as your engine and your fuel consumption. It’s hard to save more fuel than by not using any at all!

All of these awesome tips will make a huge difference in your fuel usage even if you don’t know about how badly you need them. Try them out for a few weeks and see what they can do for you! You’ll be really surprised at the huge difference, even if you do need to focus on what you’re doing a little more.

It’s also worth noting that if your fuel usage is really getting on top of you, that different car types out here can have a huge impact on how much fuel you are using too. Make sure you’re choosing the right car for what it is you need it to do, otherwise you’re going to burn money. Get a hatchback for tiny journeys or a larger engine for a lot of motorway driving, for example. It’s all up to you, but don’t forget! (here’s more info)
