The CarExamer Basic Inspection is for buyers who have already seen the car and want a professional second opinion before committing their money. The inspection allows up to 70 minutes for 100+ checks, including a road test of up to 10 minutes when the vehicle is safe, road legal and available to drive.

Instead of a simple pass or fail, it gives you useful context for the purchase: what appears satisfactory, what needs attention and where a defect could lead to further cost. Basic is intentionally a focused inspection and the vehicle is not raised. It is best suited to a newer, lower-mileage car you have already viewed. For an older vehicle, a remote purchase or a decision that needs deeper underside, bodywork and structural assessment, compare the Standard and Premium inspections before booking.
